After long discussion and debate, the 15-member advisory committee for the Pacific Women’s Forum decided in December 2007 to postpone the planned April 2008 Regional Forum.
Through a process of reflection and dialogue, the advisory committee reached the view that to get the best outcome from a regional forum, national dialogues needed to take place first. Members of the advisory committee will now work further with their organisations and networks on how to proceed with these national discussions.
IWDA acknowledges and values the efforts of the advisory committee to shape a format that will deliver the strongest possible outcome from this initiative and looks forward to working further with them once the outline of this is defined.
