Congratulations Virisila Buadromo!
IWDA extends many congratulations to the Executive Director of the Fiji Women’s Rights Movement (FWRM), Ms. Virisila Buadromo, who has been awarded the Secretary of State’s International Women of Courage Award for 2008.
This prize is one of the United States Government’s most prestigious awards for courage, and recognises Ms. Buadromo continued advocacy work in the fields of gender equality, political reforms and democracy, within a challenging and threatening political climate which has resulted from Fiji’s 2006 military coup.
Congratulations to Ms. Buadromo and her team for their dedication to assisting women and children in gaining gender justice and political rights.
