Naomi Yupae, Executive Director of IWDA partner organisation Eastern Highlands Family Voice, spoke on Radio Australia about enlisting men to help them prevent violence against women in Papua New Guinea.
The Eastern Highlands Family Voice was formed over ten years ago to help protect women and children from violence. But Naomi Yupae says that in recent years they’ve noticed they’re not the only ones that need help. She says that male community members might be behind most domestic violence cases, but they’re also part of the solution.
