| Other Info | IWDA are excited to announce our very first film fundraiser for 2011 - Conviction! Conviction is based on the inspirational true story of a sister's unwavering devotion to her brother. Two-time Academy Award winner Hillary Swank stars as Betty Anne Waters, a high school dropout and single mother of two, who puts herself through high school, college and finally law school in an 18 year quest to free her brother Kenny (Sam Rockwell) who is wrongfully convicted of murder. Conviction is a film that promises to inspire and uplift you, and remind you of the remarkable strength and resilience of women. Proceeds will support IWDA’s work supporting practical and rights-based initiatives that directly address poverty, oppression and gender inequality in Asia and the Pacific. You will also have delicious chocolates generously donated by Cocoa Farm to nibble on during the film! Details: Cost: $25 per person RSVP: by Monday 14th February, 2011 To book please call (03) 9650 5547 or download a booking form from our website and fax completed form to (03) 9654 9877. http://www.iwda.org.au/au/2011/01/24/conviction/ Tickets can be collected at Cinema Nova from 6pm. The film will be screened at 6.30pm. |
