| Other Info | Join us for a captivating film that was written and directed by women! Directed by Larysa Kondracki and written by Larysa Kondracki and Eilis Kirwan. This ripped-from-the-headlines thriller is inspired by actual events. Kathryn Bolkovac is a police officer who takes a UN peacekeeping job in post-war Bosnia. Her expectations of helping rebuild a devastated country are dashed when she uncovers a dangerous reality of corruption, cover-up and diplomatic immunity amidst an expansive human trafficking industry. The Whistleblower features a remarkable lead performance from Academy Award winner Rachel Weisz, and is a powerful and purposeful thriller based on the true story of a single woman’s quest for justice. Proceeds will contribute to IWDA’s work supporting practical and rights-based initiatives that directly address poverty, oppression and gender inequality in Asia and the Pacific. Tickets will also include a gourmet chocolate bar thanks to the generous sponsorship of Cocoa Farm. Read more about this event or buy tickets. |
