You can give the cost for one month for a full time counsellor at Banteay Srei’s Safe House in Cambodia. The counsellor is available as soon as women arrive at the centre and can support her individual needs during her time with them.
You can also give the cost of library resources for five months for the Palaung Women’s Organisation’s Crisis and Resource Centre on the Thai Burma border. The Centre provides emergency accommodation and support to women survivors of trafficking and/or violence.
And because the prices are examples of how donations can be allocated towards program costs, you and your gift recipient will know that any Gift of Change you purchase is supporting IWDA’s wider programs. The projects and stories highlighted in this 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence campaign have demonstrated that economic empowerment, civil and political participation, sustainable livelihoods, and safety and security are all intertwined. Giving the Gift of Change will support the efforts of IWDA’s partners to achieve greater equity and security for women.

Please visit the Gifts of Change catalogue and invest in change for women this December. Your contribution will make a real difference where it is needed most.
For other ways to support IWDA’s partners and their work with women in Asia and the Pacific, please see Day 11: International Volunteer Day for Social and Economic Development or consider becoming an Empower supporter.
