Love and Justice

Love and Justice

On Wednesday 10th March, 2010, One Just World became a platform in which people could come together and explore ways to overcome some of the challenges we face in achieving the Millennium Development Goal of gender equality and empowering women before 2015.

IWDA would like to thank all those who made this ‘How Women Can Change the World’ event happen. In particular, a big thank you goes out to the artists who generously donated their time and talents, making the event not only one to engage the community on key contemporary development issues, but also an entertaining celebration of International Womens’ Day.

IWDA recently held a fundraiser film screening of the Australian film Unfinished Sky, with the aim of using the proceeds to assit in the establishment of new organisation Solomon Mere Kamap (SMK).
The funds raised through this event meant that as of this week, the organisation is officially registered in the Solomons, following a three day workshop which was also funded by the film night!
