2010 Great Ocean Walk Challenge for Change
30th October – 1st November 2010
Ever think you could give women a voice, simply by walking along a beautiful coastline for three days?
The 2010 IWDA Great Ocean Walk Challenge for Change is an uplifting and fun way to raise funds for projects along the Thai-Burma border which build women’s capacity to participate in community life, raise awareness of their rights and empower them to advocate for positive change.
From 30th October – 1st November you can trek along 55 of the 91 kilometres of breathtaking coastal scenery, deserted wild beaches and sheer cliffs whilst encountering an abundance of Australian flora and fauna – all in support of IWDA and their partners on the Thai-Burma border!
The trekkers will travel from Melbourne to Apollo Bay, and then walk from Blanket Bay to Cape Otway, Victoria. After spending the night in Cape Otway, participants will walk from Cape Otway to Johanna, and then the following day will see the sights of Milanesia Beach and Wreck Beach, returning to Melbourne that night.

Trekkers climb to the top where they have lunch with a view! Photo Ali Capp.
Registrations are now open for this fantastic opportunity to participate in an adventurous fundraising initiative that will make a difference to the lives of many women by raising money to support the work of IWDA’s project partners on the Thai-Burma border.
