The gift you have made will contribute to empowering women and to achieving a just world for young women,  like the students at the Emerging Leaders School. Your contribution will allow us to continue our programs in the Asia-Pacific that provide education and help women’s voices to be heard.

The Karen Young Women’s Leadership School on the Thai-Burma Border was created in response to an identified need for leadership skills for Karen refugees. Now, graduates are able to make greater contribution to decision-making at community and government levels.

The Emerging Leaders Program gives women the skills and support to be involved at all levels of decision-making and leadership. Young women who do the course emerge with greater confidence, leadership ability and the chance to work with the Karen Women’s Organisation as advocates and educators.

These are just some examples of how women’s lives can change with your help. All of our programs address the specific needs of women and help to support gender equality. They are devised and managed by women who live and work in the communities themselves, fostering practical and innovative responses to the issues women view as most critical. We recognise that these women are the experts in their own lives.
